In May 2024, Trezor announced the discontinuation of the Coinjoin feature within their Trezor Suite. Coinjoin, a privacy-enhancing service that anonymizes cryptocurrency transactions, was coordinated by zkSNACKs. However, zkSNACKs decided to discontinue its Coinjoin coordination service by June 1, 2024, prompting Trezor to remove this feature from their Suite.
Trezor emphasized that this decision aligns with their commitment to user privacy and security. Despite the removal of Coinjoin, Trezor continues to explore and implement alternative privacy solutions to ensure users can transact securely and privately. The company is actively enhancing other privacy and security features within the Trezor Suite, aiming to provide users with the highest level of protection without compromising on usability.
Users were assured that their existing Coinjoin transactions would remain unaffected, and Trezor provided detailed instructions on how to handle any pending transactions before the discontinuation date. This proactive communication underscores Trezor's dedication to transparency and user support, ensuring a smooth transition for all affected users.
